Our Studio Facilities

Dallas Suzuki Violin Lessons | Lake Highlands, White Rock, Preston Hollow, Richardson, Addison, Farmers Branch, Plano, Garland, Irving, White Settlement, Allen, McKinney, Rowlett, TXConveniently located in the beautiful Lake Highlands area of Dallas, the Love Nurtured Music Studio provides an excellent family setting that is both sincerely warm and professional. Our music teaching studio area is comfortably large and designed so that listening to the music lessons is a pleasurable experience.

There is enough space to accommodate individual and group lessons, as well as at least ten observers. This is important, because when you come for a lesson at our studio, you don’t just sit outside “waiting your turn” -you come in to observe the lesson before and stay for the one after yours. Not only is this a good educational experience, but it also fosters the sense of community that our families cherish.

Dallas Suzuki Violin Lessons | Lake Highlands, White Rock, Preston Hollow, Richardson, Addison, Farmers Branch, Plano, Garland, Irving, White Settlement, Allen, McKinney, Rowlett, TXOur music studio facilities also double as a recital hall, with room for up to 80 people. It’s a great place for student recitals and fun once a month group activities. We also hold home recitals, where different families volunteer to host a recital in their homes on a revolving basis. Of course, the kids appreciate the receptions held after all these events, with their great tables of munchies and snacks!

Dallas Suzuki Violin Lessons | Lake Highlands, White Rock, Preston Hollow, Richardson, Addison, Farmers Branch, Plano, Garland, Irving, White Settlement, Allen, McKinney, Rowlett, TXEven with our wonderful facilities, the Love Nurtured Music Program has its greatest assets in the music learning experience and and its families that together have built a special atmosphere of musical togetherness. The basis for the Suzuki Philosophy is creating a special environment that fosters the development of every child’s talent. At the Love Nurtured Music Studio, everything we do contributes to creating a community of learning where the potential of all children can be realized to the fullest extent.

Love Nurtured Music Program Orientation and Enrollment Information

1. Watch “Nurtured by Love,” an introduction to the Suzuki Method:

Frequently Asked Questions:

Advanced Violin Student - Love Nurtured Music Violin Studio

When do children receive lessons? How often? How long are the lessons?

Children receive both individual and group lessons during the week after school hours –usually, Monday through Friday, 2:30 – 8:00 PM.

Individual lessons are from 30 to 60 minutes in length and depend upon the age, level and maturity of the child.

Beginners usually take 30-minute individual lessons, while intermediate and advanced students take 45 to 60 minute individual lessons to provide time for extended repertoire study, note reading, and technical study work.

All weekly group lessons are on Monday afternoons and are approximately 50 minutes in length. We have group lessons from Beginning to advanced at different times on Mondays.

All students in the program come with their parents for both group and individual lessons (that’s twice per week). For more details, go to the program’s online calendar.

Additionally, we have Play-Ins about once per month. These Play-Ins are a combination of all-level-group gatherings, concerts, recitals, community concerts, or just an opportunity for all students in the program to get to play together and work on ensemble or orchestra skills.

My child is very interested in music, but I don’t know much about it. Can my child succeed?

Absolutely! Every child can learn, given a proper environment and guidance of an expert teacher. The Love Nurtured Music Program is based on the notion that every child will learn from the environment. Your Suzuki music teacher will guide you on how to help your child practice and what to look for when working on musical skills. Parents do not need to know music and receive our proprietary tools to lead their children with appropriate strategies for home practice.

How does the Love Nurtured Music Program schedule work?

The Love Nurtured Music Program consists of 40 weeks of instruction from late August until late June. Our calendar follows the Richardson Independent School District start week, official Labor and Memorial Day holidays, and spring break. However, the Suzuki music program goes through May until the late part of June. This allows for more accelerated learning in the month of June, while children are already out of school. Families enrolling for the school year are asked to make a commitment for the entire school year.

How do I schedule a visit or observation?

Please contact us to schedule a personal visit to the Suzuki music studio or a lesson observation. There are many opportunities for families to observe individual and group lessons, but visits are held only by appointment.

Can I have a free lesson for my child?

You are welcome to observe as many lessons as you wish. Actually, it is common and encouraged that all families come to observe at least two times before deciding to enroll. Once you come to observe a lesson, you can also schedule a brief teacher meet-and-greet consultation time to learn the enrollment requirements free of charge. However, all one-time scheduled lessons will need to be paid for ahead of time.

Where can I find tuition information?

You will receive more detailed, current enrollment and tuition information packet when you visit the Love Nurtured Music Studio, or inquire about the program in person, or by phone.

Do you have tuition payment options? Do I have to pay for the entire year?

There are several payment plans to pay for the year’s tuition: Yearly, semi-annual, or quarterly. The dates for payments for the current year are listed in the studio calendar.

How does the Love Nurtured Music Program work?

The Suzuki Method of Music Education

Dr. Shinichi Suzuki

The Love Nurtured Music program embraces the ideals and philosophy of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, founder of the Suzuki Method. The student, teacher and parent are the solid foundation of a learning triangle. The parent attends the lessons, creates a positive home learning environment, and organizes the daily listening and practice sessions.

No previous music or teaching experience is necessary.

The Suzuki Philosophy

More than forty years ago, Suzuki realized the implications of the fact that children the world over learn to speak their native language with ease. He began to apply the basic principles of language acquisition to the learning of music, and called his method the mother-tongue approach. The ideas of parent responsibility, loving encouragement, constant repetition, etc., are some of the special features of the Suzuki approach.

Parent Involvement
As when a child learns to talk, parents are involved in the musical learning of their child. They attend lessons with the child and serve as “home teachers” during the week. One parent often learns to play before the child, so that s/he understands what the child is expected to do. Parents work with the teacher to create an enjoyable learning environment.

Early Beginning
The early years are crucial for developing mental processes and muscle coordination. Listening to music should begin at birth; formal training may begin at age three or four, but it is never too late to begin.

Listening
Children learn words after hearing them spoken hundreds of times by othe rs. Listening to music every day is important, especially listening to pieces in the Suzuki repertoire so the child knows them immediately.

Repetition
Constant repetition is essential in learning to play an instrument. Children do not learn a word or piece of music and then discard it. They add it to their vocabulary or repertoire, gradually using it in new and more sophisticated ways.

Encouragement
As with language, the child’s effort to learn an instrument should be met with sincere praise and encouragement. Each child learns at his/her own rate, building on small steps so that each one can be mastered. Children are also encouraged to support each other’s efforts, fostering an attitude of generosity and cooperation.

Learning with Other Children
In addition to private lessons, children participate in regular group lessons and performance at which they learn from an are motivated by each other.

Graded Repertoire
Children do not practice exercises to learn to talk, but use language for its natural purpose of communication and self-expression. Pieces in the Suzuki repertoire are designed to present technical problems to be learned in the context of the music rather than through dry technical exercises.

Delayed Reading
Children learn to read after their ability to talk has been well established. in the same way, children should develop basic technical competence on their instruments before being taught to read music.
