Helping Children Thrive During a Pandemic:

“Love Nurtured Music” Fosters the Power of Music to Enrich Young Minds in Difficult Times

As Parents Seek New Ways to Enhance Their Children’s Education Impacted by Coronavirus, Studies Show Music’s Positive Benefits on Intellectual, Cultural, and Character Development.

September 2, 2020 — Amid the barrage of news coverage coronavirus’ impact has had on Americans’ daily lives, what’s often missing in the headlines is its emotional and psychological effect on our nation’s children as they navigate a new school year, wrought with profound changes.

In a Gallup1 poll conducted in June, nearly three in 10 parents surveyed said their child is “already experiencing harm” to their emotional or mental health because of social distancing and closures.

As counties and districts shift from traditional classes in school buildings to virtual or hybrid learning models, it’s become critical for parents to consider their child’s needs for structure and social contact to combat feelings of confusion and isolation.

A wealth of scientific research over the course of the past decade is proving that music education is a powerful tool for harnessing children’s full intellectual, social, and creative potential. Love Nurtured Music, Dallas’ premier violin studio, is committed to providing world-class, expert music instruction to children (as young as three years-old), giving them the tools and resources to express themselves, unleash their creativity, and be inspired by their own boundless capacity for personal growth.

Embracing the internationally-acclaimed Suzuki Method, Love Nurtured Music empowers children not only to develop into professional musicians, but build their character through parental engagement, positive reinforcement, and the emotional healing power of music.

Tap into Your Child’s Limitless Potential at an Early Age

Over 50 years ago, Japanese violinist Shinichi Suzuki harnessed the basic principles young children acquire to speak their native language and applied it to the study of music, calling it the “mother-tongue approach.”

The Suzuki Method is based on a fundamental belief that, when properly trained, all children can develop musical ability, much in the same way they learn to speak their first language.

Using a groundbreaking “triangle model” blending the instructional training of the teacher along with the guidance and assistance of the parent at-home, a strong and lasting foundation is built for the child to become responsible, cooperative, and disciplined not because they are told, but because it is an organic part of their daily life.

As a member of the Suzuki Method Association of the Americas, what separates Love Nurtured Music from other music education programs is an inclusive curriculum incorporating teacher instruction, parent involvement, learning with peers, and encouragement that are the keys to unlocking the unlimited potential of every child.

A Safe and Welcoming Space Dedicated to Enriching Young Minds

Following CDC guidelines and recommendations requiring face masks, limiting class sizes, and practicing social distancing, Love Nurtured Music is committed to keeping children safe, while allowing them the space they crave during a time that has disrupted their sense of routine and normalcy.

From increased emotional resilience and self-confidence, to improved attention span, focus and more, the benefits of music education are numerous.

And, with over 25 years of experience, led by renown violinist Rigo Murillo, Love Nurtured Music’s proven success and exceptional quality of instruction makes it more than just another after-school activity, but an investment for parents that will deliver lifelong and far-reaching benefits for their children’s futures.

Because, as the Ancient Greek philosopher Plato once said, “Music is a more potent instrument than any other for a child’s education.”

2020-2021 School Year Registration

July 22, 2020 by Love Nurtured Music

A seed is planted in the ground. We can’t see the development of the plant as the sun shines on the earth and the rain nurtures the seed, but one day a flower appears. Similarly, we can’t see the development of a child’s ability but we must keep nurturing until the flower unfolds. It is an example of the universal law of cause and effect. As the Bible says, “As you sow, so shall you reap.” - Shinichi Suzuki
Three-year-old violin student at Love Nurtured Music Studio in Dallas

Hello LNM Studio families,
I am happy to send you our 2020-2021 school year registration information!

Yes, we are going to have a wonderful year, even with COVID-19! The detailed registration form and policies are attached in PDF format.

Lesson time scheduling is on a first-come-first-served basis upon registration.

I am committed to provide the best and safest environment for all our studio families during this unprecedented time.

We are starting off with video lessons onl, until we decide it’s safe to go back together for both individual lessons and group lessons.

When it is safe to have lessons at our studio, there will be a face cover requirement for all persons entering the building. There will be a modified group schedule, cleaning procedures, and hygiene practices.

I can’t wait to get our children together when it is safe to do so.

In the meantime, there will be some slight changes to our program:

  • Individual lessons will continue as usual, via video, or, when it is safe, in person.
  • Regular Group Lessons will have a maximum or 5 students to allow proper participation, whether it is via video, or in-person.
  • Play-Ins will be done via live streaming, or, when it is safe, in person, with limited capacity, even if we have to have multiple ones.
  • There is a NEW video lessons policy page in the registration package to guide us through this time, when we have to do lessons via video.
  • I will be producing and publishing additional remote-learning instructional videos and recordings for registered students in a membership-based site, all available to any registered student or parent.

2020-2021 Schedule:

Lessons Start: August 17 (40 weeks of lessons begin)
Thanksgiving break: November 21 – November 29
Winter Holiday Break: December 19 – January 3
Lessons Resume: January 4
Spring Break: March 13 – March 21
Lessons End: June 18
Summer Lessons:

I look forward to helping all our young musicians make wonderful music this year!

Blessings,

I didn’t try. I did it!

December 16, 2019 by Love Nurtured Music

By Rigo Murillo

There is nothing impossible for the ones who are willing to pay the price of excellence.
A year ago, I thought what I did yesterday would be impossible for me to do. But after a lot of training and discipline, I was able to accomplish my goal. I have learned that there is nothing impossible for the ones who are willing to pay the price of excellence.

A year ago, I thought what I did yesterday would be impossible for me to do. But after a lot of training and discipline, I was able to accomplish my goal. I have learned that there is nothing impossible for the ones who are willing to pay the price of excellence.

Perfect practice makes perfect!

After many days of training, I made my best efforts and finish running a half marathon.

I did not try. I did it!

Dear LNM Studio families,
As we embark on the last week of school year individual lessons and the beginning of summer lessons, I want to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for:

  • The numerous hours of practicing at home with your child
  • Accommodations you have to make to bring your child to lessons week after week
  • The encouragement you give your child when he/she is having a hard time with playing music
  • The love and appreciation you have for music that your child models
  • The perseverance and patience you have exhibited when your child doesn’t seem to make progress (but he/she is)
  • The financial commitment and sacrifice it means to pay for your child’s music education
  • The support you give me when I challenge your child or ask for something that is hard to do
  • Your understanding when I have a difficult time teaching your child
  • The LOVE you give your child above pretty much everything else

I love and appreciate all of you and your precious children. I am privileged to work with such a wonderful group of families who love your children with such passion and want the best for them.

I look forward to another opportunity to continue teaching this summer and/or this coming school year.
